A Greek Twist on Burger Night
I always find myself craving Greek flavors in the springtime—maybe it’s the lamb, or maybe just the fresh Mediterranean feel of it all. This year, I decided to channel that into a fun little twist: Greek Burgers! Served on soft naan with a dollop of tzatziki and a scoop of simple Greek salad on top... they’re so good and super easy to prep ahead.
Here’s how I made them:
Ingredients
For the burgers:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground lamb
¼ cup chopped fresh herbs (I used oregano, thyme, and rosemary)
¼ cup chopped onion
2 eggs
⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Toppings and Assembly:
Naan or pita (I love using Stonefire mini naan)
Tzatziki sauce (store-bought to makes this super easy)
Shredded lettuce
Greek Salad topping (see below)
Naan or pita (I prefer Stonefire mini naan)
Simple Greek Salad (for topping):
Chopped cucumber
Chopped tomato
Sliced white onion
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
Salt, pepper, and a dash of dried oregano—use as much or as little as you like.
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix all burger ingredients until just combined—don’t overwork it.
Form into small oval-shaped patties (I like this shape so you can fit 1–2 on a piece of naan). I love using the Stonefire mini naan as the “bun.”
Store patties in the fridge until ready to cook.
When you’re ready to grill, take the patties out to come to room temp while you make your Greek salad. Just toss everything in a bowl and let it sit while the flavors meld.
Grill burgers over medium to medium-high heat, about 4 minutes per side. Let rest.
Toast or warm your naan.
Assemble: Spread tzatziki on the naan, add your burger(s), top with lettuce and a scoop of the Greek salad.
That’s it—fresh, flavorful, and just different enough to feel special. Let me know if you try it!
